I have to hold off for a little while on the leather & suede interior, but I need something for the next few months. I saw these on ebay and they look friggin awesome for seat covers! Anyone know about these and how they really fit/look? Theyre only $200, but thats never a fun amount of money to throw away....unless its on alcohol!

There have been threads here about them and the feedback was so-so.I have to hold off for a little while on the leather & suede interior, but I need something for the next few months. They don't appear to fit as well as in the eBay pics based on some of the pics people posted here.
A search might bring up the thread/pics.
BTW, I found a set of very nice heated, black leather Cabrio/M3 Sport Seats for $250.00 a couple of years ago locally on craigslist, so if you look around you might find a good deal.
I also replaced the rear lower bench on my Cabrio with a used one in good condition as mine had the usual split in the center seam for $100.00, so for $350.00 total, my interior looks almost new.
I also removed the seat backs from the front and painted them with vinyl paint to freshen them up a bit.
There are deals to be found if you look around and are patient.sigpic

From the posts, many here seem to be happy with the fit, must remove the seats to get them on nicely and if you can add some foam here and there, would look really good specially on the lower bolsters on the front seats. A quick good way to enhance your worn seats. Not bad for $180I have to hold off for a little while on the leather & suede interior, but I need something for the next few months. Yeah I plan on doing some finessing with foam and fit so that they look at as good as possible. Currently I have tan cloth sports and I have to do something with them ASAP especially considering Ive switched everything else to black already. So everyone agrees for temporary use and $200 shipped I cant go wrong?sigpicComment

i had these and they fit ok. I agree, taking the seats out and adding foam would be the way to go. overall they were not up to my high standards... :)
oh and they can rip easy if you are not carefull installing the upper sections around the side bolsters:(

Like Ken said, I have them and I'm pretty damn happy for $180. They're not perfect, and they don't have the exact OE stitching pattern, but they do wonders for seats with and tears or holes in them. If it's not a show car, you really can't go wrong with them.
As a comparison, I had my convertible completely reupholstered buy a professional last summer, and it ran $1200. So yeah.....big price difference.Last edited by CorvallisBMW; 01-14-2009, 06:01 PM.Comment

Yeah $1200 was the quote I got as well for just 2 front seats (rears deleted) headliner and rear deck with door card inserts. Thats not in my budget for a few months because I have to pay into my taxes. That and the car was just painted today, and flawless dont come cheap. Looks like theyre gonna be my temporary choice, thanks for the input guys.sigpicComment

FYI if your vinyl is looking old and faded, try this stuff:Yeah $1200 was the quote I got as well for just 2 front seats (rears deleted) headliner and rear deck with door card inserts. It does magic on vinyl like door cards and toneau covers. I did my interior bits with it and it all came out flawless. And it's about $8 instead of $800 :)Comment

My door cards were tan with cloth inserts, and I used that dupli-color vinyl & fabric spray....I was blown the fuck away by how perfect and brand new looking the shit came out! It looks like I have brand new door cards. The tan just had to go and the budget isnt so large anymore, so I figured Id give it a shot. 3 cans @ $7 a piece sure beats the hell outta getting them reupholstered!sigpicComment
