    Analog clock

    Should this not be a direct swap to my 1990 325is? I know that I need the wiring harness out of an older e30, but I have another problem. There does not appear to be a way to mount the clock. It falls through the existing hole for the OBC. What is the trick to mounting it?

    the mounting piece from the obc should come off by pushing in a couple tabs. then it just snaps onto the clock. atleast thats how it was on my 89.

      I have it mounted. I also have a wiring harness from a 318. The problem now is that the colors are not matching up. The 4 prong connector has brown, red/green, brown/black and purple/grey. The only match is the brown. A previous thread stated that you match up as many as possible and the others are not used. I imagine it needs more than one wire. Any advice from the wiring experts would be appreciated.

        It only needs a constant and a ground and an Illumination circuit. Very simple find these and you are set 3 wires on a 4 wire plug.

        PS I have some sitting around collecting dust.

            For future reference this is the wiring combinations that worked for me:

            1990 325is -> 4 prong wiring harness
            BR -> BR
            RD/WT -> RD/GN
            BR/WT -> BR/BK
            GY/RD -> VI/GY
