    need help with this washer

i pulled off my front seats today and i found one of this washer under each seat

i'm not sure but i think they were located on the bolt towards the center console in the front side of the seat rail. does anyone know if this is right?

washer seems to fit snugly into the circular hole in the carpet but what i don't understand is why is there one per seat?

    thanks

Looks like a spacer used on the outside of the seat in place of the seat belt receptacle. Did you remove the big bolt that holds the sliders in place?

when you say big bolt that holds the sliders, do you mean the two bolts in the front of the seat rails attached to the floor of the car? if so, no those are still attached to the floor of the car. i just removed two nuts in the front, two bolts in the back and seat belt attachment bolt to remove the seat

where exactly is outside of the seat in place of the seat belt receptacle?

No. The bolts on the sides of the rails, at the back, that hold the sliders to the seat itself. There should be a square-tapered tab, with a threaded bolt hole that goes through it, on the outer rail of each seat. This is where that washer goes. The seat belt receiver (not receptacle) goes on the inner part of each rail, and acts at this washer, since it has the same square-taper opening as that washer. Those washers fell out when you removed the seat from it's brackets.

And the way you removed the seat is the hardest way possible. Unbolt the 4 17mm bolts/nuts that hold the seats to the floor of the car, and they come right out.

          thanks Mr. Anderson.

I only removed the 4 bolts/nuts as you said, just like it's described in the Bentley. i probably didn't explain it clearly in the previous message. bottomline is the sliders (or rails) are still attached to the seats.

now what i'm wondering is since i didn't remove the seat brackets why did these washers fall?

i'll take another look at the seats to see if i can figure this out.

No problem, let me know if there's anything else you have questions with.

If you didn't remove those bolts, then the only thing I can think of is whoever owned the car before you must have take the seat rails apart, and left those washers. It's hard to say without seeing it in person.
