Has anyone swapped the seatbacks on front seats?

i took my son to the park today, and was sitting in the front passenger seat working on my laptop while watching him play. anyways, the seatback on that side is in much beter shape padding wise than the driver's seat. i take a lot of 4-hour road trips (sometimes four of them in a single weekend, such as this upcoming weekend), and anyway, was wondering if anyone had tried or done this. TIA! :)

EDIT: these are non-sport leather seats (black) from a four-door.

With a 4 door, since your seats don't lean forward and lack the levers to do so, I'd imagine it can be done with no issues.

Do it and let us know if it works!

why not just swap the seats and redo the buckles? is there any difference on the rails where the left buckle and right buckle attach?

seat controls (side ones) would be inaccessable.

it'll easy, even if its just hte seat back on a sports seat in a coupe.

on comforts, undo the backing, and loosen teh two screws (one on each side). Then unclip the whole mechanism on both sides like you would any sport seat reupholstering, and you should be able to just slide the whole thing up. and swap it over hte other side.

Nope. Look along the bottom corners of the back. There should be 2 little screws you need to remove. Remove the tilt levers plastic handles (pull out), remove the plastic surrounds at the tilt levers, then lift straight up. This is what I remember anyway.

aya, i was feeling those screws this morning while driving my kid to school. I dont have tilt levers (sedan), so i just remove screws, and slide the backing up?

Maybe? I don't know comfort seats too well. They look easier to do though, since there are no levers. I would start by taking the 2 screws out, and then gently prying out and up. Just don't pull too hard just in case there's something else you need to undo. Look here for more tips.

Oh, taking the seats out will help you out tons. Super easy. 2 nuts and 2 bolts. Slide the seat front and back for easier access. There are caps on 2 of the nuts or bolts. They pop right off.

Some diagrams, not sure what year you have though.
