Trunk Lid Trim Panel & spare tool kit don't fit

I got a trunk lid trim panel, and if I screw down the tool kit, it won't open properly. Anyone run into this issue before?

I sure did..you will have to first install the panel and mount the tool tray from outside. Which means 2 holes in the panel.

Yep, E28s are the same way, the tool kit mounts outboard of the trim panel. It seems iffy, but looks fine when installed.
