sound deadening in the dash?

If you were to remove the dash from the car how much sound deadening is there to be removed.

I think it's just foam IIRC. Open your glove box and poke around. It's not much.

maybe once the dash is out remove the sound deadening. but your right removing the dash just to get at it would not be worth it.

it took me about 3 hours to scrape most of the foam stuff out of the dash. the heaviest part of the dash is the metal core.

could guesstimate the weight of what you have removed?

3 maybe 4 pounds.

i didn't dig into the foam around the radio/hvac since it would leave the vynal w/ no support, but i did scrape everything else down to the metal.

you save way more weight removing other things, what else have you done?
