After Market steering wheel fitment, Momo, Nardi etc

I prefer a Momo Portotipo or similar wheel but those wheels block the view of the gauges. 380 mm in stock location hits my legs. I am tall at 6'3" and need a large adaptor ( more than an 2" ) to get the smaller wheels farther away from the stock location. I would hope that this brings the gauges into better view. any ideas, solutions, images, links etc would be appreciated.
