    1991 BMW 325IX Rear lighting

I am trying to redo all of the rear lighting in my 91 325IX. I am looking at putting in LED lights on all of them.

Do I need a new panel for the lights or will the original panel work? Also I found that 1156 led bulbs work for most of the tail lights but I am unable to find which led bulb is used for the running/parking light.

Can anyone help me with a LED bulb list for my 91 325IX.

Hello, happy to help - If I can I will.

I see it's been 15 months - did you sub LED for ALL the rear light bulbs? If so, what was the result- visually and electronically (any Check Panel reaction)?
Were you going for 'bling' or for better light output / visibility?

I do many different rear light upgrades for E30 lights, pre- and post-facelift. My acid test for performance is this-

    1) Get new bulbs according to your wish list.

    2) Put them in ONE tail light, leaving stock lamps in the other.

    3) With a helper at the helm, take the car somewhere dark and observe the lights from 40-50 feet behind the car. Test every combination that can occur between the tails, brakes, turns. Move off axis (left and right) to get the full range of angles traffic may see you from. Compare reverse lights alone, stock vs LED to see if they really are more useful.

3A) Swap all bulbs side to side, LED on the OTHER side, then repeat observations.

    4) Report back here, I'll see your reply and we can go from there.
