I just recently acquired an 89 325is. I bought some LED's from Amazon - H1 for low and high beam and H3 for the fogs.
The H3's installed just fine, no issues.
The H1's on the other hand were challenging. I could only get the low beam to work on the passenger side.
The high beams did not work at all.
The low beam on the drivers side didn't work either. I tried 3 different LED bulbs to no avail. I swapped them over to the passenger to confirm they were working.
Installing the old bulbs back in works fine with no issues.
The fuses are good. Not sure if there's a specific brand of LED's I should be purchasing. Appreciate the guidance.
