Early Model to Late Model Taillights

Not sure if this has been covered already.. I did a search and I kept getting sidetracked, figured it'd be a lot faster to ask (after an hour of searching and reading other stuff)...

Any chance I can fit late model cabrio taillights into an early model cabrio?

I'm figuring since the cabrio's had the exceptions to the bumpers they might have em to the lights too :)

    Any thoughts?

No, it can't be done. The amount of bodywork needed to do it would be more money than the cost of the car.

No, the whole rear end is different with the different tail lights - they are completely different sizes and the spot for the license plate is different as well.

Not true! any compatent weld/body shop guy could do a rear clip in about 2 weeks. You see old ball cars like this in Germany. They will put a early tail on a late car due to that was the only tail of a car they had sitting around.

So it's not impossable just not a bolt on.

Does anyone remember Plastiksmoke325? I remember he was going to do this, and was pretty serious about it.

Paint the sides and it's a different story.
