How to remove dome light?

OK, I hope this isn't as silly as I think it is, but I'm trying to replace the bulb in the dome light in my '91 4dr and I can't get the damn dome light off.
I've been prying at it for ages and pushing and pulling at the little metal clip on the side to no avail. Is there some sort of trick to getting this off without breaking the old plastic?

Slip a flatblade under the side of the light opposite the switch and pry it out. It'll pop out just fine.

gearheade30: That's exactly the first thing I tried, but it wouldn't budge, it's like it's caught on something. I may end up breaking it if I try to force the issue. :(
