    Installing Lamin-X

As some may know, I bought new fog lenses. Well, my yellow Lamin-X came in yesterday and I am wondering the best way to apply it? Should I just do the front of the lens or do around the edges too? If I just do the front, will it look alright once they're on the car? I don't want the film to end up looking like shit. Anyone who's installed Lamin-X, tell em what to do!

It's not going to bend around corners very well. I'd sand down any bumps on the lenses before you install the laminx. Wash them and then wipe them down with rubbing alcohol.

So just go up to the edge. If I recall [car is not ehre right now] they sit flush enough with the valance that it should be fine, right?

Yeah, I'd just go up to the edge.

Put some pics up after you do it. I am planning on doing this on my fogs as well.

I have them on my smoked ellipsoids. Wet them and the glass before you put them on, that will make it easier to smooth the bubbles out of them. There should be instructions that came with it. There will be some small air bubbles that you will not be able to get out, but when the car sits in the sun or lights are on for a while, the material will relax and the bubbles will disappear. I can't even tell there's anything on the lenses now.

wet them & the glass down with diluted IPA. if you can, take the fogs off the car. Also, if you can heat them up with a hairdryer for a couple minutes it will help, too.

Ok, I got the Lamin-X on the lenses and I removed the fogs out of the car and cleared out all the old glass in them. Tomorrow I will install the new lenses hopefully. Pics may be coming. Oh ya, and I will do the hair dryer thing to help stick the Lamin-X to the lenses.

clean those new acrylic lenses thoroughly with IPA (don't let it sit, wipe on wipe off, wax on wax off, miyagi says).

razor blade the glass, then rub it clean with alcohol. then start from one side of the galss and apply it across using the plastic blade they give you. push it on from one side to the other to avoid bubbles. you can try to push it around the edges, but it wont bend to much.

negatory if you're doing this on acrylic lenses. be very cautious using a razor.
