My opinion on all of this is this... $25 (the cost of new bulbs) is not worth my time to try and get free replacements. You make a phone call, and no matter how helpful they are you still have to send them your old one. So you drive over to the PO pay to send it out, and then wait. A few weeks later you get the replacements in the mail, and all is well b/c you got a $10 bulb for free. And thats the best case scenerio. What if the first phone call doesnt go smoothly... what if you have to make a couple of calls to finally get them to play ball? What if it takes more than few weeks to get a new one sent? What if after all the trouble you went through they get back to you and tell you that there is a finger print on the bulb and they can not send you a replacement?
If i were in your shoes... i'd call to see what the options are and if they want you to send back the defective bulb, let them know that its not what you want to do and the hassle isnt worh it for just a bulb. Tell them you'll buy another set instead, and suggest that you should get a discount. If they are a smart company, this would insure repeat business for them. If not... you'll have two whole bulbs to go through before you can take your business elsewhere for bulbs and or HIDs.
