I know it's probably been mentioned, but I thought I'd ask anyway, where would I buy a brand new set of euro ellipsoids? Do most E30 online stores carry them, or are they carried only at certain places (the euro ellips, I'd love to have those city lights)

Euro ellipsoids don't all have smiley cutouts. They all have city lights. They all take H1/H1 bulbs. US ones take 9006/9005 bulbs.Originally posted by RobOriginally posted by C ///MAnd the light cutoff is higher for the euro ellips.Originally posted by Robso let me get this right

The cutoff is fully dependent on where you adjust them to.Nick

You yourself said that the euro's light up signs more....? Is that not higher or were you referring to width dispersion?Originally posted by Inspar8rWHAT!?!??! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AC Nico is a great person to buy Euro Elips through, with and
without city lights/smileys try giving him a pm. That's who I'm
getting my Smoked Hella's through, as well as a couple other
people on this board are buying through him.
Don't quote me but I think his prices are:
220$ For Clear Hella Elips
300$ For Smoked Hella Elips「 Terror from the Rising Sun 」Comment

The cutoff is higher on the european ones, it's semantics getting between you guys though. The cutoff for driving is probably the same, it's on the left. The USA ones zip up just a tad on the right but the pattern remains horizontal. The euro ones are flat to the left and maybe 30 degrees up to the right to light up street signs. That's also how Cibie and Hella lights are. One further problem IIRC is that each pair of ellipsoids must be adjusted together while sealed & cibie/hella can be independently adjusted.Originally posted by C ///MYou yourself said that the euro's light up signs more....? Elaborate? My highs adjust independently of my lows? And both sides are obviously independent.Originally posted by franzOne further problem IIRC is that each pair of ellipsoids must be adjusted together while sealed & cibie/hella can be independently adjusted.Im now E30less.

My bad, I have never had a set of ellipsoids. I was going from experience with my e39.Originally posted by Ryan StewartElaborate? My highs adjust independently of my lows? THats because of the nature of the cutoff, not it's height.Originally posted by C ///MYou yourself said that the euro's light up signs more....? Is that not higher or were you referring to width dispersion?Originally posted by Inspar8rWHAT!?!??! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea, exactly my point. The cutoff is higher because it's angled. My M3 has euro ellips and the light cutoff is much higher than it was with the US lights, well it was much higher until I decided to be a dumbass and have some people realign them thinking they would do a better job than myself.... But anyway, what I said was completely correct, the cutoff does go higher on the euro headlights, I choose not to elaborate as much as some. But your quote:Originally posted by Inspar8r

was not enitirely accurate because if you adjust the euro's around where they're suppose to be, the light cutoff will always be higher than the US ellips...
Just making sure you know that your NO with 300 too many exclamation marks was incorrect and unnecessary...
