    Headlight to hid?

I have sealed beams in my e30 and I want to know what is the cheapest way to get hid running on it. Do I just buy a set of ellips or do I just replace the sealed beams with the Hella h4's or whatever?

Are you completely convinced you want HID's? A nice set of H4/H1's will make a remarkable difference and that's probably the cheapest option and its plug and play. I just went to Euro ellips for the possibility of going HID in the future, however, they put out such amazing light with a good set of bulbs I think I'll stick with that setup. I guess you could find a budget set of us ellips and risk crappy reflectors the get a set of fleabay ballasts pretty cheap. All in all H4/H1's would probably be your best bet for budget vs. max output.

H4/H1 with good bulbs has more output than ellips

H4's have better output than 20 year old ellipsoids unless you get new reflectors and HID's

I've got a set if you're serious. Yellow lamin-X on them that you can leave or peal off.

Shoot me a PM or something.

Cheapest and most effective route for HID is US ellipsoids.

i'd say get the H4 for the highs and snag the yellow highs off an old mercedes from a junkyard. THAT'S the cheapest way to go.

after comparing my HIDs to kronus' H1/H4 setup, I wouldnt have it any other way. Then again it looks like the PO of my car may have bought brand new ellipsoids, because they're damn near perfect.

If you drive your e30 on stairs, you're gonna have a bad time.
