Moved the ballast from the bad side to the good. Good side turned bad. Bad ballast. :) :) :)

I was just hesitating on that because now I have some double sided tape to remove from under the hood - oh well.

Should I run thicker wires from the low beam relay?

Update: Used a voltmeter on the low beam wiring plugs on each side of the car. First was driver side: ranges from 0-15 volts. Same on passenger side, only passenger side still works. Why it does this, I don't know. I thought it was supposed to deliver somewhere around 12 volts, constantly. Driver side ballast makes a little squeaking noise when you turn on the headlights. So maybe I'll try a different ballast when it stops raining. Just because it's a new part, doesn't mean it's a good one.

Just a little update on my situation. Both bulbs were coming on for a week or two, every time. Then it started raining. A couple days into it, my driver's side doesn't come on anymore. My feeling is that water is getting into the wire nuts that connect the 9006 pigtail to the low beam wiring, causing corrosion. But then why only on one side?

I've also noticed this only happens to me when the car has sat for a long period of time, like overnight. So i'll actually give the car a little rev and turn the lights on at the same time when the car is generating a little more current. Though it could be a total fluke.

this is exactly what I do too. I have a digital volt meter in my console, and any time it reads anywhere below 13v upon startup, the HID's never both turn on at the ssame time. I rev it up to 13.6/13.7 and they both go on. Was hoping there was a way I can correct this, but I don't think there is.

I'd love for this to be the fix for my issue (one of the lows sometimes not firing up). I was going to use a new 9006 pigtail but when I installed it with wire nuts, the light would NEVER come on. WTF? So I wire nutted the old 9006 piggy back in and just like before, it works sometimes. What am I doing wrong? Not my first bbq with HID's, had this problem with my old cheap ones too. These ones are Depo brand I guess, and I know all the bulbs and ballasts work - brand new. You can turn the key, pull the headlight knob, and both low beam HID's will come on (sometimes one of them won't - driver side.) Not sure if it matters if the car came with sealed beams.

    Who you callin friend pal?

And technically, since you're not a Newbie, you shoulda checked the original date ;)

    I don't care, but I think it's funny...
Like I said, mine have pretty much ceased to act up on me, every once in a while it happens, and just switching the lights off and back on fixes it.

I'm going to have to do the same, sadly it is weding season and my wife is dragging me to a wedding for the next few weekends. But that's going to be the solution I'm sure.

Anyone else get to the bottom of their problem yet?
