What kind of Hellas are these?

Hello R3V,

I was just given these low beams because the previous owner didn't need them. I have been trying to look up what kind (ellipsoid, projector, non-projector), but I don't really understand the terminology many people here use concerning these headlights.

Also, what would I need to get these up and running on my 91 318i? Would an HID kit be a good idea? Are any other wiring harnesses necessary? Thanks for any help.

They are the stock low beam US ellips. You'll need the bracket that they mount to and the high beams and the connectors. Most likely by the time you gather all of that stuff up, you could of bought a whole set for $80 or so. And yes, these are the ones people put HIDs in.

those are 5 series e34 low beams. They will not work for your e30
