    Hella smoked lens replacement

Has anyone ever replaced just the lens on the Hella smoked low beams? I get water leaking in on the passenger side and I have some pitting on the lens so I found just a lens replacement source and am looking for info on swapping lenses. Thanks

    Go ahead!
The lenses themselves aren't smoked so you should have no issues.

Lenses come smoked. Looking for a write up on replacing....................Need to seal them up before I throw in my HID's.. So lens and seal replacemnet are the order.

Dude look at the glass, it is clear, you can see all the way through where the ellipsoid is supposed to be. The reflector behind the lens is black.

Take out your light and housing and put on the new one, that is the entire setup without the ellipsoid so you aren't just replacing the glass. If you find a source for just the lens, or buy the ones from bmwlight.com then you take that with the housing off the car, heat it up with a heatgun or oven, pry off the glass and glue the new one back in. I think I used black silicone when I did mine, maybe it was black rtv gasket maker but it should all be the same.
