the parking lights will be celis lights. same design what you see on newer bmw's like the e92. it's basically an acrylic rod with led's on both ends lighting it up. it's not bright enough to use it as brake light for example but maybe if you put the led's behind the rod it could work. -

LED taillights for early e30's
I'm planning on converting the tails on my 1990 325i convertible to LED's. I want to have the new celis strips but also trying to keep the original design as much as i can so i need the opinion of the community. I created a few pics with photoshop (i don't know how to insert pics so i just give you links):
- parking light
- brake light
- fog light
- another brake light idea
- i don't know if i should use this one at all
i will do the reverse light and the signal as well.
i feel lik the brake lights are too small if i keep them the original way but making them bigger changes the look too much. i'm also thinking about putting leds between the celis rods so basically it will look like the original if the parking lights are not on.
