    Wiring for Yellow Lows Question

Hello all, I currently have the yellow Benz fog lights in my car and I really like the light output of them, except since they are my current high beams I cant see very far because they were originally designed to be fog lights. I do not have fog lights as of now but I have the switch. I tried just hooking up my low beam connector to the yellows so I can use my clear highs again so I can actually see at night (I do a lot of open country driving at 75, so seeing far is important so I do not hit a deer) while still having my yellows on for my low beams. In attempting this, the current apparently is still making contact through the system so all four are on even when the high beam switch is disengaged because the low beam has two filaments to switch between, but the yellows only have one.

What I am asking is, what is the best way to wire my fog light switch to be able to turn my high beams on to act as a breaker switch for my clear highs.

    TIA

    Jeff

Yeah they are actually really easy to install.

      1. Remove trim rings
      2. Press tabs in on the yellow lights so they will fit
      3. Align so they are straight
      4. Use trim ring to hold in place
      4. Remove little black connector that holds the wires together for high beams (two inside lights, closest to the grill)
      5. take ground and pry the little ends just a little bit so they fit on the backside of the light and just push the other connector onto the bulb wire.
      6. Test to see if it works and if so align properly as normal.
      7. When all good to go just button everything back up and you are good to go!

in my signature as my high beams and as they are here if it makes it easier to see

Ok I wired the fog light switch to run independently of the high beams.

Since I did not have fog lights originally, I had to search for the connector which was taped to the wiring harness for the headlight switch. Also since my car came with airbags I had to re route that over the airbag module, or whatever that orange thing is, and the tube for the vent.

I read on on one of the other threads somewhere that if you take the relay and a little piece of wire you can get your fogs to stay on with the key out of the ignition so it had me thinking..
If I take the purple relay, K3 and connect the 30a and 87, IIRC, so the switch doesn't kill the power. Sorry for the crappy pics the first is from my cell phone and the rest are with my camera that cannot take good night pics at the moment, i.e. user not wanting to go back and get my tripod

Then use the fog light connectors to connect to the yellow headlights real simple, brown is ground to the light case, others go to the bulb.

Well here is what it looks like...

My high beams are now on the outside (clears) and have high beam lever pushed for normal operation and the fog light button not pushed. Oh how nice it is to have again!!!!

The yellow lights only, (high beam lever not pushed) It kinda looks like the street lights on the ground when driving but when you turn them off, "Oh shizz those are my low beams haha" I really like them except when other cars are driving toward you.

Then you can also have both on, which is like holy crap!! Me likey but I can imagine this would piss a lot of ppl off

And oh btw all for under $20. :D
