hey guys i came across a pair of french euro-smileys (the projector and high beam are both yellow)are they legal to drive with in the united states

no they arent legal to drive. you'd be fine with yellow highs as you only have those on when other drivers arent around anyhow, but the lows you will get pulled over for pretty fast.

the laws on the yellow lights are in a bit of a gray area. as far as ticketing goes i think it just depends on how anal the cops are in your area. but i would check the dot site and call the local police station and ask them.

I always drive with my fogs on just in case so I can argue that my fogs are my headlights and my headlights are my fogs :P

Yeah.....I haven't totally thought out what to do if they ever pull me over, but they haven't in 3 years, nor anyone else I know so I don't think it is going to happen.
