    Rebuild U.S. Ellips

Did some searching with no rewarding results....

I'm currently experiencing poor lighting from my 35w 6000k DDM HID kit, and just yesterday I noticed condensation on the inside of the pass. side high beam glass.... How easy is it to remove and dismantle the headlights, rebuild, reseal them, repair or replace the reflectors, etc.? I was very spoiled with my last car's headlights, and so I'm doing my best to see at night now...

to get the lense off you have to bake it in the oven to soften the adheasive. The rest is just fastened together with screws. There is a vent built into these lights, you may want to check to see if yours are clogged up.

Where is the vent? I'll go check it out, but is there a quick and easy way to see if the reflectors are trashed, or something else that might be causing poor lighting?

sub'ed. And while you're in there can you "fake" an euro headlight by cutting out part of the reflector? Or simply putting a black cutout (or something) there? I know that sounds hack-ie, but I could live with that.

The vents are on the back of the lights. They are small little black tubes that come off. You can remove the rubber part and there is a white plastic tube that goes all the way to the inside.

this might help, and you should smoke them while you've got 'em apart.

Thanks for the link... I think I'm confused with these headlights so I'll have to step outside and take a look... There's no reflector to rebuild, it's all in that "eye" looking piece in the middle of the low beam? So essentially light output is dependent on bulb / HID kit? Or is there a way to brighten or clean it up? As soon as I saw Jordan painting his low beam reflectors black, I kinda thought that the poor lighting I'm getting is just cause I went with a 35w HID kit..
