E46 Projectors vs Stock with HIDs?

So, I'm looking to install HIDs in my 89 325i (already has ellips). How hard/easy would it be to install e46 projectors and bulbs? Would I get a better beam pattern than the stock ellips? I already have the e46 projectors and bulbs and ballasts, so that would be my preferred method as long as it wont be a huge PITA to get it all set up.

I have e46 projectors and bulbs and e30 ellips and no bulbs for those.

Get bulbs for the ellips or retrofit the e46 projectors?

Nope. They are better, especially the later bi-xenon units.

Now if you are comparing to all HID projectors currently available - they are pretty low on the list. Free is free though and I wouldn't complain!

It will be a lot of work to get them in, do your research before tackling the project. It's the little things that will make the difference (like them being level, adjustable, sealed, etc.).

And if you aren't going to use them, then send them to me and I'll put them in. ;)
