    HID causing power issues

bought some elips with the ddm kit already installed, now my radio turns off intermittently and my dash will dim and lights will flash on the dash. am wondering if i should get a higher power alternator.

The stock alternator is more than enough to handle any lights you throw at it. I run two sets of 55w HID at once plus high beams and there are no issues. If it is the alternator, there is something wrong with yours. You can buy a relayed harness so you don't have to power the HID's through the stock wiring. That might be easier than trying to trace down the problem. Maybe also get the alternator tested.

He already has relays, adding more won't fix the issue. Maybe mask it, but that ain't right.

Was the DDM kit plug in?

The stock wiring can handle it just fine, but it can easily be more hassle to find out what is wrong and fix it than to just install a fused, relayed wire from the main battery cable. I would never do that, but it would be so much easier.
