    Suggestions for HID Fogs DDM

Want to purchase DDM HID fogs for:

    88 325

Interested in bright white for H3

    A) Sounds like 35W is the suggested power due to housing restrictions?

    B) Thoughts on K range (I know that it is subjective)

    C) Error eliminator needed?

    Thanks for any thoughts

35W. 55W will melt the housings.

i'd reccomend 3000K because fog lights are for poor visibility conditions, and yellow lighting cuts through fog best. the coldest temp i would go up to is 4300K. Nothing bluer than that or you won't see $hit in poor weather.

        35w
3k-4.3k if you want them useable.

Also recommend a relay harness. (I frown on HID's on Halogen harnesses)

Thanks, any ideas on the need for error elimination?

Would that be the "HID Harness" "Dual in Dual Out" that DDM sells?

            Thanks

I've seen cars burn to the ground thanks to HID's. $12.50 and 1 hour is a small price to pay for piece of mind.

error eliminator will not do anything on our cars. The yellow foglight theroy is an old wives tale, and does not really apply any more as there are rarely if any selective yellow lights (bulbs) for sale...it is really only for show.

you're right to a certain extent. i just did more research. yellow is theoretically less reflective than white/blue, but fog/rain/snow droplets are too big to make any difference.

the main reason to stick w a warmer light than colder, especially for fogs is because it has less glare. yellow lighting is easier for our optical systems to process because it has a longer wavelength.

#1 You do not need to worry about error cancellation as e30's dont have a fog light check circuit.

#2 The factory harness is just fine if you run digital ballasts as you never have that huge spike in voltage that you get in older/cheaper analog ballasts.

If you want white, get 35w digital slims in 4300k.

Honestly HID's in the fogs are a waste. Their light projection is to the side of the roads. A proper driving light or a set of Hids in the low beams add plenty of visibility.

I used to go through a pair of fog bulbs every year at least. With the HID fogs, not once in 3+ years did I have an issue. You can dip those babies in a cup of water and they keep on keepin on. lol
