    DDM HID question

Got a DDM Apexcone Raptor HID kit for Xmas...

It's 9006 HID bulb for the US ellipsoid headlights. Thing is regular 9006 bulbs fit into the headlights and screw in securely. The Apexcone raptor bulbs don't look like 9006 rings so they don't screw in properly.

Tried using the rubber dust boot to hold the HID bulb in place but doesn't keep it centered so the light pattern isn't correct.

Also tried using the clear plastic "snap rings" that hold the bulbs in the shipping containers to hold the HID bulb in the headlights. This was an improvement but still wasn't holding the bulb centered.

Here's my question: is this fitment the norm for the Apexcone kits?

I've heard nightmare stories about dealing with DDM's customer service and instead of exchanging the HID kit was just going to order another kit for my lows and modify these bulbs for my fogs (brother ordered me 3000k 35w bulbs and I'm looking for 55w 5000k for lows) but my concern is if I get another kit it will still have the same issue not being a true 9006 fit.

Anyone have pictures of their DDM/Apexcone HID bulbs they can post?

Sounds like you got the wrong bulbs... 9006 is the right style, but mine screwed in just fine; same base as halogen bulbs...

Yep, I've bought a couple of sets and they both fit no problem.

Alright, sounds like he ordered the wrong bulbs too. Since I already have them I'll modify them for fog duty and order the correct kit for my lows. Thanks for your replies.
