    HID's not functional all of sudden - no power at fuses

    So I was driving last night and all was fine. I went to fill up and left the lights in the on position and turned the car off. However, when I went to start up the car the lights did not turn on. Note, that I turned the car off, but didn't return the switch to the off position, fogs however remained on.

    When I got back in the car, I started it up like normal but this time the headlights did not turn on. First thing I did was check the fuses...fuses were good so I said fuck it, I'm driving with the fogs.

    Today, I started to diagnose the issue. I'm getting zero power at the fuses in the on position. The low beam relay is definitely functional, I can feel it clicking. I also removed it and checked for...which it was receiving.

    How could this happen so suddenly especially since the car was stationary?

    What else should I check?

    I say ditch the illegal HIDs and go back to bulbs. THen buy some high $$$ Hella bulbs or some Silverstars and its will solve all you HID problems.

      Yeh except they're bosch ds2 ballasts and they have an infinitely better light output than standard bulbs. But thanks for the advice.

      Anyway, I'm an idiot. I was checking fuses 1 and 2 when in fact it turned out to be 13 and 14...FML.

        It has nothing to with the ballasts. Its the bulbs and projector made for an incandescent bulb. You may have name brand ballasts but do you have a real DS2 bulb? Im sure someone hacked up a ds2 to fit your H1 socket. There is no such thing as an HID H1 bulb. Read the link.
        But hey if you swapped all that hats off to ya.

          Fucking Illegal HID swaps are fucking annoying.

          though the Halogen bulbs are pretty crap compared to HID...

            errrr i have u.s. ellips meaning its a 9006 bulb fitment. nobody hacked anything up, everything plugs in rather nicely.

              I'm kinda in agreeance with the other guys here. After trying HID conversions before I will never do it again, or recommend it to anyone. Read the link posted earlier on, or to see it yourself take a seat in a car infront if yours with the HID's running to understand how insanely piss poor the light focusing is. You blind everyone else on the road, not to mention wet weather performance is basically non-existant. Take a look at Www.powerbulbs.com and buy yourself a set of high end halogens like the Osram Nightbreakers or Philips Xtreme. White light output with non of the BS side effects of "xenons" in projectors not remotely designed to focus it.

              Plug and play or not, they are not proper. Halogen bulbs and Xenon bulbs burn in completely different ways, the lens focusing is NOT set up for it, you ARE blinding the piss out of everyone else and wasting your own car's potential lighting

                ^ I dont have any of the issues u have, granted yes i am blinding the shit out of people. But they see me, and I see them perfectly. IT really depends on what K u picked up. Ive had "purples" which didnt really show much, then ran a "yellow-white" and could see everything clear as day. Just pick up some proper projectors if its that big of an issues and you should be fine.
                The 9mm is a .45 set on stun.:mrgreen:

                  I don't know what you guys are on about because I have aimed my headlights properly and I can clearly see that they are NOT blinding anyone.

                  I'll continue to rock my HID setup thanks. When I'm ready I'll be going a similar route as Wh33lhop or this guy
