Left turn signal shorting high beams.

When I turn my left turn signal on when the headlights are on, my high beams come on. If I put just a bit of pressure on the stalk, towards the steering wheel, they will turn off. Should I just replace the stalk, or can I take it apart & fix the issue?

I had a similar issue, I ended up cleaning the grounds near the driver side headlight and cleaning the contacts of the turn signal housing with a wire brush until they were bright and looked new again, no more issues.

Below your fuse box you have all the wires running thru your firewall, there is a rubber boot that holds the wires in place and runs the thru the firewall. Mine came off and the metal on the car was shortening the blinkers $$$$ on labor to figure out the problem. It was an intermittent problem, we started with a new turn signal stalk, relays, etc….
