    H1 bulbs into US ellips?

for some reason, DDM thought I wanted their H1 kit instead of 9006, I'm not really sure why but from what I read H1 bulbs are brighter than 9006 lights.

I saw this tutorial for e34 US ellips, which look very similar to the e30 ellips...

My question is, do the E30 US ellips have those three mounting screws? if so, I may be set - I'll go to the junkyard and grab some e36 housings and just call it a day.

    Otherwise, anybody want to trade 9006-style HID's for my 5000K 55W H1 HIDs? :)

I can tell you with 100% certainty that everything in that tutorial can be applied to e30 US ellipsoids. The part of the headlight he is modifying is an identical and interchangeable part on both e34 and e30 ellipsoids.

The only question is whether you can find some e36 H1 assemblies easily and if it's worth going through the trouble of doing the mod versus having DDM send you 9006 bulbs

Simple solution to your problem is dont so it.

Plus and H1 and a 9006 are way different. Looks like the key part of the swap is changing the back. Or you could just buy some new lights from the DTM fiber werks guy.

Well the NHTSA site is boring its a better article. And yes I was telling him to not do an illegal thing to his car. However. I did make a recommended fix to his problem ad new lights may add some looks to his car. http://dtmfiberwerkz.com/access/head...3_887_912.html
Link included. I wasnt bashing just educating. besides there is no such thing as a 9006/H1 HID bulb they are DS1,2 and so on and have a differnt plug on the back. A 9006 HID is a HID bulb cut up by some kid in far east and has a 9006 or whatever backing put on it. Sounds like somth9ing I wanna run 10k volts through.

The thing I say do is find the light from a E46 and steal the projectors off of them and see if they will fit the american lamps
