DIY REQUEST - Third brake light

    hi,

does anybody know how to wire up a third brake light into an e30 that didn't originally have one?

how hard is it? can it be done?

any tips or general info would be awesome, and if anyone has any knowledge in wiring that could help as well.

if anyone wrote a DIY for this i would love it

    thanks :D

If it didn't leave a hole in the rear shelf, I would get rid of mine.

I wouldn't do it either. If the car never came with one, leave it that way. If you get shit from cops, kindly explain to them that it wasn't standard when the car was made and you should be fine.

take the LED back light off a GM style SUV in any junkyard.

if you have a brake light use what is there along with a resistor.

if not, then just splice into one of your brake lights and draw power off that.

the LED will look good, and if you are using option 2 it wont decrease the brightness by much.

I believe he is saying if you are using a LED brakelight from another vehicle, like a GM as he stated, that you need a resistor.
