    Interior lights not working?

Why aren't my interior lights (lights, gauge cluster, middle panel) not turning on?

I pulled out the gauge cluster because I thought all the bulbs may have burned out, but that wasn't the case.
I checked all the interior lighting fuses and when I didn't see anything, I checked every single one and they seem fine.

    So what is it?

Also, are the light bars for interior lights available from the local auto parts store?

oh...and is there anything else I should do with the gauge cluster out? The odometer's broke, but I'd have to order new gears, cuz it started crumbling when I touched it.

Just a suggestion, I know this has happened to many people in the past...did you try turning the little knob on the left that controls the headlights? Maybe you dimmed it accidentally?

Nope. I had that problem a couple years ago when I first got the car, but not anymore.

I can't remember how/when it happened exactly...but I think it went out all of a sudden. at once.

did you change your fuse or just look at them and did you test the fuse or just look at it ?

i visually inspected them quite thoroughly for any burnt out connections...I realize i should've used a voltmeter, but I didn't have one handy.

could they be broken even though they look structurally sound?

yes that is a very good possiblty the only way to know for sure is to use a DC votage tester so i would try to get one for just replace that fuse they sell kits that include like 10 of each comon fuse and a tester. that is were i would start i had my lights go out in a car just like you and it was the fuse

This recently happened to me...it ended up being my light switch. Although my exterior lights worked none of my interior lights came on. Troubleshot it down to the rheostat inside the switch.

^huh, that is useful info. thanks.

what else were possible sources of the problem when you were troubleshooting?
