    city light help

I bought a car that e30 that has non-elip headlights. The previous owner put in city lights (just low watt bulbs drilled into the low beam housing). When i turn on the ambers the city lights come on. When I turn on the headlights its like any normal e30. Then when i turn on the high beams the driver side headlight is out and then the city light comes on intead of the low beam headlight. Do you think it sounds like a wiring prob or could it be cause the drivers high beam is out?

    Thanks guys,
    Charlie

Oh yeah and i checked the fuses and #1 was out and i replaced it and the headlights acted the same.

The high beam filament in the outboard light is blown.

No, a new low beam. The low beam has a high beam filament, read my post again.

so why would that make my high beam not work (ie the inside headlight)?

Power goes threw the Low beam to power the High beam, so if the low side is blown then the High beam won't work.

dude... there is a high beam light in the lowbeam bulb also. there are 4 high beam lights on when u turn them on (inboard and outboard) when u have your lowbeams on it is just the outboard lowbeam bulbs. you just need to replace your lowbeam because one of the filaments inside the two filament bulb is blown
