    Found a sweet little mod

So it has probably been done but i figured i'd throw it out there....The mercedes 300d has the same headlights as our cars with the exception that its an h1 bulb instead of a sealed beam...i found one at a junkyard and took it home plugged the h1 wire into the positive and made a small wire with two spade connectors for the ground. Worked mint! The best part about the lights is they are yellow or frenched....so for the price of nothing you can have frenched high beams! :)

Happy hunting....im still looking for another

To be completely accurate, you have yellow fog lights. Not yellow high beams. You'll notice they do not project for shit, but light up the immediate area really well.

I'm pretty sure I can see farther with HIDs in my ellipsoids than I could with standard bulbs, and especially farther than sealed beams. I will agree the Mercedes lights are garbage.

I'm sure you can. That kinda comes with the territory when you're pumping over twice the lumens, but you're throwing light at everyone else too since that housing isn't designed for a HID bulb.
I don't always wreck cars, but when I do I wreck them into trees.

Has a decent cut off and they don't light up anyones interior so it can't be too bad. Better than a non projector housing glaring all over.

This "topic" has been beaten to death...

But I agree, our ellipsoids don't really blind anyone.... So Hid's FTW!

BS. They're just as annoying as any other "HID conversion"

Do you have any pics of the install? Or what year the car was?
