    euro smiley wiring

so i have a euro 323i, it did not have smileys, got into a accident and needed new headlights, figured if i bought euro smileys they would use the same connectors right? wrong! the 323i has 2 connectors per side of vehicle, the smileys have three, and the connectors are different. also the connector for the low beam on the car has 3 wires the highs have 2. on the smileys each connector only has 2 wires. im pretty sure the 3rd connector if for the running lights, but not 100% sure on that, and the third wire on the low beam is for the running light? can anyone confirm this? and what would be the best way to wire in the third connector on the smileys? and what would i do with the 3rd wire on the low beams on the car. heres some pics

Wire low beams as following: Blue/white to blue/yellow & brown to brown. 3rd white wire is unused.

Wire high beams as following: Blue/white to purple/white & brown to brown.

The 3rd connector on the Euro smileys (bottom left) is for the city lights. Most people tap it in to their sidemarker or parking light wiring. On Euro spec cars the city light was used as the parking light. You can not wire it off of the extra 3rd low beam wire.

ok, i figured since my car is euro spec, and so are the lights that maybe this would be a direct plug in, maybe since my car is a 84 and the headlights were on a late model things have changed lol, thanks for the info
