    hid ballast location (325i)

So I was about to drop my hid plug and play kit in and couldn't find a good place to securely mount my hid ballast. It's a 55w vvme ballast and my car is a 1991 325i with retrofitted us ellipsoids.

Where do you put your hid ballasts?

so i was just told that a super easy way is to attach them to the headlight covers with adhesive pads, can't believe I didn't consider that! is this the most popular way?

what kind of bulbs did you get? 5000k?

can you please post pictures of the light output.

ive considered getting the vvme kit, but have yet to see how this kit compares with the ddm tuning one.

zip ties are fine. thats what ive used and all my cars and ive never had one issue with them.

I attached mine right behind the headlights with velcro.

my 55w ballasts seem a bit heftier than most, i think i will try this method:

just need to get some long ass zip ties first

Or just don't do a bad thing and you won't have to worry about the ballasts. I'll laugh when the legislation passes that allows states to hand out tickets for HIDs.

pretty sure it's already illegal and cops can ticket you, they just choose not to enforce it, obviously it's not a big enough deal. if i have issues with people flashing me and what not I'll switch to halogens

4300k 55w, very white up close but look like halogens from a little farther away, perfect

ended up zip-tieing them to the back of the head light assembly with 15" zip ties
