    A little fog light help.

Who'd ever expect to spend over 3h trying to get their fog lights working? I sure didn't. I need some input.

New fogs light housings, new bulbs, new relay, new fuses '89 with factory ellips

Now when I try to turn them on, nothing happens (No power to fuse 29/30) I was wondering if I am missing anything on my switch since it has four contacts and only two wires going in.

Now I wasn't able to run the engine, so I hope that doesn't come in to bite me.

Any thoughts? I read up a lot but I really can't figure out what my problem is. Much appreciated!

get a wire diagram and work your way back. Start at lights...ok not getting 12v at lights means lights are not problem...whats next before bulbs..and continue. know thats pretty basic response but thats how i solve electrical bugs

Just to clarify, the engine does not need to be running for the fogs to be on correct?

I ran through everything today, everything from the fogs to the fuse box is alright (I was able to hop over a live wire from the box to the fogs fuse and they lit) so there must be something between the box and the switch. I tried following the wires down but its a disaster zone.

Thinking of wiring them up my own without a relay to an empty fuse on the box (it wouldn't bother me to have them on all the time) Any input?

What relay are you using? All E30 relays are different, but the fog light one in particular is even more special as it includes a diode.

Didn't your car come equipped with fogs? You should have the right relay.

Just took a look, it definitely looking like an aftermarket relay. I'm going to order one and see if thats my problem. #61311380013 if anyone is wondering.

Do you have a k9 relay? I think is the same. Swap them and see what happens.
