WTF are you talking about??? I have never seen a cop car with HIDs in my life. And no Crown Vic or Charger comes with HIDs. Plus i have never been blinded by a cop car behind me. And what are you, the spokesman for this company thats trying to sell their cop car?

no i have never seen a cop car with hids. I just started looking this week but it seems they are all halogen. never actually looked before a couple days ago.

I looked at chargers and they are an option. but cop car chargers dont have them.

I have been blinded by any cop car behind me at a stop. In several states even lol.

the company I have no idea about it just uses bmw engines. interesting.

In orange, TX they have a SRT-10 viper powered dodge ram truck, and a V8 camaro SS, in Vidor they have a Hayabussa patrol bike, in Winnie they have had a fleet of chargers for years, and in Houston they have two cop car Camaros.

        Nice great info.

I doubt there are very many anywhere with hids its settled. They blind you well enough with their halogen bulbs.

I have seen highway patrol mustangs.... kind of one off that might have hids but not like a company wide thing.

I just looked up the Chargers. And you're right about the HIDs. But it is only the R/T models and up that come with them. The lesser models like the SE and SXT dont come with them. And being that a Charger is a Fleet vehicle, they're not going to have them. https://www.fleet.chrysler.com/fleet...nel=paidsearch. And i still never been blinded by a cop car, or thier trucks...

Well here's something you can try next time you get blinded by a cop behind you, just brake check him, and when he pulls you over or hits you, be like sorry officer couldn't tell you were a cop, and i thought someone was high beaming me to stop/pullover. lol.

Ya Ive always thought they did it to run license plates at stops. flipped their high beams on. The reason this is the best theory is because they do it when they pull you over for expired tags( where I learned this I cant remember......)

The theory that their headlights are pointed up because theres so much heavy stuff in the trunk like jaws of life and stuff is very good.

The theory that american made headlights are poorly designed is plausible too because honestly lots of american cars headlights do blind you from behind.

I theorize that they just are trying to blind you because if youre drunk you wont recover in time for the light and they can pull you over.( IE they just ran your plate and arent allowed to pull you over for it but want to)

I have heard the theory that they are actually lighting up your cabin to see if you are texting.

All are very good theories. But the one theory thats wrong is that they are using hids.

                Cop cars and HIDS

I am 99% certain there is not one cop car in the state of Ca that has HIDs... first it is a package that a city with a limited budget would not go for. It's just not cost effective, I'm sure they would rather go for better rifle racks or shotty racks or even docking station/wiring harnesses for the computers that need to be connected with the city's web base software and the counties' various criminal databases.

HIDs are just a luxury item that most cities in America just can't afford. In short money can be spent well on something else.

The best explaination is that the crown vic is ass heavy from all of the in trunk equipment.

The rear shocks are sagging... and yes those Crown Vics are not taken care of properly and driven to the ground.

                  Cops and HIDs

O, and cops don't have "The Jaws of life" in their Crown Vic's trunk. Only the fire fighters carry them...

                  Cheers:p
