thats a good explanation but that means theres 1 million retarded vehicles in our country blinding us for the same reason.

dodge chargers do have hids as an option, and dodge charger police cars dont have them.

did you know that ford doesnt make huge cars anymore? Dodge doesnt either thats just a band aid.

Do you know who still does make huge cars, and who the new law enforcement car company bases their law enforcement special on?

I've never had a problem with their headlights but I always find their e-lights annoying at night, when I'm trying to see past them instead of being blinded by epically bright blue/red lights (referring to AFTER they've stopped).
same goes for overhead DOT orange message signs. put that shit in 50% brightness mode, assholes.

Somewhat related: I once saw an ambulance coming via indirect lighting (reflection from the sky / clouds) a good FIVE minutes before it went by.

you can buy crown victorias, or dodge chargers with factory hids. They just dont. might be aimed higher. whatever it is its dangerous and i always want to complain.

im sure they are just poorly designed headlights on the american cars lol, I know they can retrofit hids on law enforcement cars unless the change the whole light to a projector housing or some other light that doesn't cause glare to other drivers. Or maybe the lights are aimed higher?

started a topic cops and their blinding headlights... hids?

cops and their blinding headlights... hids?

I just ordered hids for my e30 so they were on my mind when I was driving around today.
You know how when a cop is behind you they blind you with their headlights? I had always though it was because they had hids....

it was raining today most people had their headlights on, and you could see into their housing

Checked out the sherriff, the highway patrol, and the prison system ( both van and cop car)

All Halogen headlights. they are just bright or they are in the habit of turning their brights on at stoplights. And the latter seems to be true. I always suspected that and the mystery is solved.

If they do have brighter headlights they are halogens.

your local cops may have hids but this was a state county and city cop cross section of california...
Working...
