Is there a DIY for ellipsoids?

I've been searching and find a lot of ellipsoids thread, but is there a DIY for it? How are is it? It's pretty much plug and play with some soldering right? Any help would be appreciated.

I've been trying to ebay for a pair of ellipsoids as well, where do you guys really recommend for me to pick them up?

if you just want standard elipsoids i think its just a plug and play operation.

seeing as my car came with them, i dont know which bulb the sealed beam uses, but i'm sure its the same wiring base as the 9006, i'm pretty sure you just need the elipsoids and brackets, and its plug and play.

Keep in mind I don't know this for sure, let somebody else chime in... I can tell you how to put bi-xenons in your car though ;)

isnt there a better ellip to have if you plan on xenons? (ive read this... somewhere)
i am in serious need of light upgrades and know nothing about xenons but dont want to rule out that option.

it's not plug and play. sealed beams are setup so that the lowbeams go off when you turn on the high beams.

there was a writeup online that ryan stewart had (his site is down) and at m3bmw.com (that site is no more).

So, pull out the bentley and figure it out.
