    another red taillight thread

I liked the look of everyone else's all red taillights... so I decided to jump on the band wagon

    and here we go....

    Before...

The PO had done some spraying of his own

    Sanded...with some RED laid down...

    Tinted the reverse light....

    Painted the "lines" black....

All polished and ready for install...

I'll install them next month b4 bimmerfest east

Feel free to comment/criticize, love or hate..... I like to hear it all

Thats funny, i recently removed all the red paint on my rear turn signals. They kept dulling out and fading from sun damage. Will the polishing keep that from happening? Not a big fan of the reverse lights and gridlines though. Just my opinion...

They look too dark in the day time though. The gridlines a little bit weird. If it was just the horizontal that would clean it up a bit IMO.

I only painted the horizontal lines, the vertical ones are there naturally

Your back up light now stands out like an orphaned black baby at a Jewish foster home.

And that is not polished. These ones I do arent even polished out 100% yet...

They should have more gloss than the body paint IMO. I dunno. Dont let r3v decide the fate of your car though. Ive become a purist who is anal about perfection and oem looks whereas others are all about clean mods. Keep at it and make perfect for you and be happy with your car.

Polish/wet sand and a nice clear coat prevents fading.

Btw, you should rethink the blacked out reverse lights...

Maybe it's just pic but it doesn't look that polished. Here is my link on the way I did it.

                    And my results.

I've never understood the obsession with all red tails. Just leave them alone!! my originals are still glossy after all these years!!
