Hella Smiles Bracket/Adjusters

I have a 1986 325es that the previous owner converted to Hella Euro Smiles. I went to go adjust them and found that the supporting bracket and adjusters are totally butchered (cracked, random hardware, hot glue on the adjusters.....the whole nine yards)

I want to just get brand new brackets with adjusters. Are they the same as the ones that came with the car or are they specifically for the euro ellipsoids? I'd like to just order up some new ones but don't see them available separately except for the oem stuff.

brackets and adjusters from north american spec ellipsoid head lights will work - theyre the same. anything from sealed beam headlights set ups will not work, totally different.

One more question. What are these black units on the lower adjusters of the low beams? The little screws at the ends are rusted to shit I'm not sure if they are working or how they even work. I don't see them on the microfiche for the north american elllipsoids.

Yeah that sounds about right. I think I'm going to have to cut off the bracket and ditch them because I cant get them to adjust. Looks like a regular mechanical adjuster will fit in place of it.

Update:

I ended up cutting off the vacuum assist units (they were shot anyway) and installing all new adjusters adjuster in their place. Its nice to be able to see at night again.

did you get parts from bmw? or did you already have or get them else where
