the good old H4 upgrade from Hella or the Cibie CSRs are also a good upgrade.

I have CSRs on mine, and they are out-freakin'-standing. While fairly narrow, I've seen well over 1 mile reflective range out of the highbeams on these things. The lows give a beautiful blanket of light and have the nice upsweep to the right to expose the deer that are about to run out in front of you.

I personally wouldn't think about doing an HID conversion.
