I Give Up - Which Plate LEDs Are Error Free?

So I decided to go boy racer and replace my lights with LEDs. The license plate frame LEDs that I bought from SuperBrightLEDs.com (3710-xHP3) generated a cluster error which annoys me, so did the "error free" LEDs I bought from eBay.

I give up - what LEDs do I need to buy to that will not generate an error? Or do I have to solder on a resistor to eliminate the error?

Ive tried a couple as well. For a car thats 20 years old, that check panel is pretty damn smart. Resistor is going to be needed.

It seems the LEDs from Ebay work properly but will sometimes trigger the check panel light if I turn off / restart the car without also turning off the lights. Not sure why.

Any details on which resistor I need to solder in?
