vert 3rd brake light delete. warning light on@!?

ok so a PO deleted the third brake light. fine. i like it. it looks super clean.
anyway, someone at some point quite literally came in and sexually assaulted the wiring in my car. the 3rd brake light wiring is just hanging out in my trunk as a result.
on my check panel i have the "brake light out" or whatever it is lit up at all times as well as "rear light" lit up.
i don't know what "rear light" is but i'm assuming the "brake light" check light is for the 3rd brake light.
how to i wire it up so that the car thinks all is ok? haven't really looked at it very much so i won't be able to explain anything.

I deleted mine too. I just secured the wire in the corner of my trunk and put a bulb on it. No check light and clean look. Just make sure to secure the bulb so it doesn't touch anything. It will burn the carpet and keep breaking if you leave it dangling

all i have are the severed wires. the trunk lid is from another car.

Oh I see. Sorry misses that part. Get the rest from the junk yard and do what I said.

You just need to get in the wiring diagram for the check system and jump the wire the relay coil would normally connect to tell the system a working bulb is there.
