thing is, non-smileys look exactly like the U.S. BS ellips. Most people want the smileys cuz its noticeable, since most E30 owners arent going to spend the cash to get euro lights and not let you know that they had to save for months to get them, lol.

I went for non-smiley's. I think that the smileys look too cluttered, I like just the look of the ellipsoids themselves. My ellips are just standard ones, but pretty cool even at that, because my car is an 86 325eS, which didn't come with them, they were retrofitted. I'd like to get smoked ones eventaully.

I don't know about you guys, but (although it's common with the owners on this board) I have not seen another E30 EVER in my area with the euro smiles.
They have just become passe' on this board because many on here have them...but what are we, 15-20 people that have them countrywide...30 tops!
Both euro versions are rare, they just seem commonplace around here..
