    hella ellipsoids wiring possibly wrong???

Hey so.i found some ellipsoids at the junk yard.. so i cut the plugs n got them. I couldnt find a good write up on the wiring to my 318is. My low beam and high beams have 3 wires to each plug. And the ellipsoids have 2 wire... so for each i connected the brown wires together and wired the matvhing colors together as well... my lowbeams i had to just cap off one wire (Dont know wat to connect too). But anyways my lights are workin good but my lowbeams suck ass... is it my wiring or the lights? Was the any other mods i need to do??

Sealed beams are dual filament, so within each low-beam bulb there's a low and a high filament, hence the extra wire. It should indeed be capped off like you have it.

I can think of three reasons why the lows might "suck ass"; poor wiring connections, fogged glass, or dull 25-year-old reflectors. Check those things then consider replacing the bulbs if they're not new (I suspect they'd just burn out rather than going dim, but who knows).

As for additional things to do, search for which relay pins to jump in order to have the lows stay on with the highs.

^ good point, another thing to check.

If the glass/reflectors do need to be cleaned it's a bit of a procedure. IIRC, the high buckets come off easily with a few screws for cleaning but the lows don't. If you clean them don't use anything more harsh than water and a bit of dish soap. The lenses are glued on so they'd need to be baked off, cleaned, then resealed. You'd have to search for details since I've never done it.

The bulbs do dim with age, so getting two new ones should help.
