    Smoking the highs

I currently have a set of US ellipsoids with smiley cut out, smoked low beams (stock, not lamin-x) and yellow high beams (lamin-x). I want to remove the yellow and replace it by a more smoked finish for a better overall look. My issue is that I want it to match the other lens, preferably without much loss in light output. Right now my high beams work great and I very much need them because my lows are terrible and I'm often driving on roads without any lighting.

I know my options (at least I think I do): Lamin-x or 'crosshairs'/Xs in the housings. I have heard that the cross hairs need some modification for US ellips but I could be wrong. Also, is it possible to swap over a smoked lens to my high beams (if I could get my hands on one)?

    Thanks in advance

Crosshairs are your best bet. Thats how oem comes so, yeah.

Not what your after but I had a set which I tinted the high beam reflector with krylon stained glass yellow paint (didn't effect output)and tinted the outside with lamin-x smoked tint. Looked great, I wish I had pics of it.

Interesting thoughts from both of you.

I've yet to see elefantsupply, and their site looks quite nice so maybe I'll pick up the tint set from them. I can't help but think the crosshairs would look better, but I'm not sure if they'll work with US ellips. Sounds like I've got some searching to do.

        Thanks guys.

Get the crosshairs and do it right. Smoked film reduces light output.

Check out Guten Parts for the x-hairs.

I'm going to go with the crosshairs and if that's not dark enough to match then I'll buy the film.

                Thanks guys.
