    Adjustment screw stripped?

Installed some HID's in my ellipsoids tonight and everything went well, except the passenger side adjustment screw decided to strip , not allowing me to make the horizontal adjustment. Does anyone know if I can just break off the white plastic part and use some pliers to make the adjustment?

Also, the driver's side is still intact, but it doesnt want to turn in either direction. Its much tighter on the drivers side so its harder to get a pair of pliers if need be. Anyone have any tips on adjusting the drivers side?

I'm not sure how breaking the plastic piece off will help. It sounds like the threads are rusty/sticky. You need to hit them with a penetrating oil (PB or the like) and let them sit for at least a few hours, occasionally moving them back and forth. When I installed my smileys, I put Aluminum cutting oil on the adjusters with the light assemblies on a bench and it freed them up in a matter of minutes. Once they rotated, I uninstalled the adjusters, cleaned the threads with a wire wheel, and reinstalled. They work like new now.

The threads were fine as I did spin it to adjust it before the plastic knob decided to spin freely. I guess I'll need to take it apart today and see how I can get it to spin the screw in there again.

Why not use something like JB Weld around the bottom of the plastic piece? How much force were you applying? If you had to use a fair amount of torque, you may need to clean the ball at the bottom of the adjuster or lubricate the cup it sits in.

I was able to adjust the light by turning the screws on the front side. Thankfully they have that as an option to adjust the lights!
