    e30 smoked tail lights

Whats the over all word on these? Is there a go to brand/style that everyone likes? I've seen some custom made tails that are really nice. Really the only ones you can find are the ones on google/ebay market, and I don't want to mess with those.

I use the method in the following link.http://e30.bmwdiy.info/red-tails/index.html Then after I get em all red I use VHT nightshades to smoke them a bit. After that spray a good automotive quality clear coat. Compound and polish. Done!

MHW's are the shit , but rare and pricey!

I used VHT red tint on mine, a friend did the whole tail minus the reverse lights but it didn't look "right" so I did the entire light and clearcoat afterwards - pardon the dirt, car was filthy before it went to the body shop.

Here is a photo of mine - just installed them last week - fit and finish was great and my old ones looked like hell.

Those look to be ebay tails. I never had BMW ebay tails but I did have ebay tails on a Chevy truck and they leaked and had condensation in them from day 1. I'll never buy/use ebay lights again.

They are from ebay - no leaking problems... But I did fill the cracks with clear silicone.

Better than paying 4x the price on startec ones.

You rarely see the ebay one on here, due to the rice factor. But OP, looks like you did a good job on your stock units.

If my tails were trashed I would personally grab a used set of regular OEM tails before going to ebay...but that's just due to my past bad experience and nothing look wise.
