    headlights from 740i into e30 325i.

i was browsing my local junkyard today and came across a 740i. it was an e34 i believe. cani use the hella smiley lights from those to go into a e30 325is? they look very similar, but i dont think the fronts of them are as convex, and they may be a bit bigger. Does anyone know if this swap will work? Thanks!

    The 7 series you're thinking of is a E32. The E34 is a 5 series.

The E32 and E34 lights interchange but neither are a direct fit in to the E30.

^ This, If you get them ridiculously cheap you could cut off and re-glue the mounting tabs in the correct place but that's not ideal at all. Keep an eye out for a set of E30 ellipsoids in the junkyard. I happened upon a set for $40 just had to replace the smashed passenger high beam.

Aren't the e32 elips able to be put into e30 headlight buckets? Or something like that?

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. The mounting tabs ON the ellipsoid bucket are in the wrong spot. They do not fit as is.
